Holdenville Tornado Claim 2 Lives Four Injured

Holdenville was the second hardest hit city in a night of tornadoes across the state last Saturday, April 27th. Sirens sounded twice, warning locals to seek shelter. After the storms had passed, most of the city had lost power. Crews came quickly and had power restored by Sunday morning. The two deaths reminded old timers of the 1950 tornado that destroyed Penn West. It was the worst tornado in local history and five were killed and many injured.
